Thanks to
Family Search I found what I believe is the marriage licence of Charles W Thurman and Jane Myers aka Lydia J Thurman
They were married October 23, 1881. Charles and Jane were both from Bridgeport, Kansas, which I looked up on Google Maps and it is in Saline County.
See below where we find out that Jane Myers was adopted.

This Affidavit for Marriage License says that the parent of Jane Myers are dead and her adoptive parents are willing for her to be united in Marriage
with affiant (a person who swears to an affidavit.) It then has Charles Thurman's name, but if you look closely there is a "X" (maybe) by his name and then a comment below to the left that says "attest to mark of Charles W Thurman J Weaver". Meaning Charles Thurman didn't know how to write.

Follow my blog so you won't miss why I think Lydia J Thurman and Jane Myers are the same person.
